The Metromint Giro di San Francisco consists of 10 races throughout the day, with the final race beginning at 3 p.m.

The route began at Battery and Union streets, where riders travel south on Battery. Riders then make a left at Green Street, go one block before making a right at Front Street, and a right at Vallejo Street.
The longest stretch of the race is after cyclists make a right turn at Sansome Street and travel four blocks. Riders make a right at Greenwich Street before making the final right turn at Battery.

The race, which was originally called the San Francisco Grand Prix, began in 1975 and was moved to its present route in 1981. It is renamed “Il Giro,” which means “The Tour” in Italian.

The first race began September 3rd, 2012 at 8 a.m.
