Most browser games are single player or include a single-player mode. One exception is multiplayer games. single-player games are relatively new compared to some ancient gaming technology. the first recorded single player games most likely came from playing cards like the game of patience almost known as solitaire. the earliest writing about solitaire was from the mid 1700s. it wasn’t until the late 1900s when single player video games showed up. some of the earliest console games also required 2 players like the famous pong game. However, later console games helped pave the way for story driven single player games. At the same time, the single-player video game renaissance of the internet was growing. Personal computers and the internet enabled more than one hundred thousand games to be created in the first 30 years since the internet has become popular. The majority of browser games are single player first and most Pong clone nowadays have a computer controlling the player's opponent.
