A raku tea bowl sits on a tatami floor, glazed in a target color. Your job is to paint it. Dip a fude brush into porcelain dishes of red, yellow, blue, white and black ink, and brush onto a sheet of washi. The paint stays where you put it. Rub two colors into each other and the brush truly mixes them into a brand-new color, the way real pigment behaves: yellow and blue turn green, everything together turns to mud, and a touch of white softens anything.
Your best-mixed spot on the sheet is measured against the target and shown as a match percentage. Reach 85% to move on, and go for 96% to earn all three vermilion seals.
