What is Chew the Bomb about?

Control an astronaut, Mr.Astrou and use a creature bomb, which explodes after a few seconds when thrown. He can use a laser gun, which is not very powerful to eliminate all hostile creatures on the stage. Shoot bomb using the laser gun instead. The bomb blasts also damage Astrou.
